Position Overview:
The Commercialization & Innovation Lead will be responsible for managing and executing all innovation initiatives across the PepsiCo portfolio in Pakistan. This includes identifying market opportunities, leading cross-functional teams, launching new products, and ensuring every innovation aligns with consumer needs, business goals, and operational capabilities.
This role acts as the bridge between ideation and execution, ensuring that innovation is not only strategic but also executable in the local market.
Responsibilities:
Innovation Leadership:
- Own the innovation funnel from concept to launch.
- Partner with global and regional R&D, insights, marketing, and commercial teams to define innovation pipelines.
- Translate consumer trends into actionable product concepts tailored for the Pakistani market.
Project Management & Execution:
- Lead end-to-end commercialization of new products including timeline development, cost optimization, and go-to-market strategy.
- Use Stage-Gate or Agile frameworks to track project milestones, risks, and progress.
- Drive packaging, pricing, regulatory, and labeling compliance throughout the innovation cycle.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Align key stakeholders across Marketing, Supply Chain, R&D, Legal, Sales, and Finance.
- Serve as the main point of contact for all innovation and commercialization projects.
- Ensure successful integration of innovation into the demand planning and production process.
Market Readiness & Launch Excellence:
- Oversee pre-launch testing, including consumer testing, pilot production, and distribution trials.
- Develop and execute robust launch plans in collaboration with Sales and Marketing teams.
- Monitor in-market performance, collect post-launch feedback, and lead continuous improvement efforts.
Innovation Governance:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all innovation projects.
- Drive innovation KPIs including speed-to-market, project success rate, and innovation revenue contribution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Product Innovation, Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in product innovation, commercialization, or portfolio management within FMCG or consumer goods.
- Strong project management experience with demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams.
- Understanding of the Pakistani market landscape and consumer behavior.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, JIRA).
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards in food & beverage is a plus.
Preferred:
- Prior experience working in multinational or matrixed organizations.
- Exposure to innovation and commercialization frameworks (Agile, Lean Start-Up, Stage-Gate, etc.).
- Consumer and market insight interpretation capabilities.
- Experience in launching 360° integrated campaigns.
